The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's garments but did not contact every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification than originally posted due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Required Changes Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she stated. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
